About

Like so many other foreigners, I came to South Korea for a year or two but stayed longer. Before I knew it, I had a houseful of furbabies — though only one, Jellybean, is still with me. Blogging is my creative outlet, and a way to share information that I hope someone out there will find helpful.

My first blog was an extension of online discussions circa 2009. I blogged about my newly adopted furbabies, my foster furbabies, stories in the news, rescue efforts I wanted to support — whatever was on my mind. Most of that content had to be taken down because it just wasn’t good enough. I tried to revamp the site several times with little success.

A few years ago I decided to focus on more interesting topics. I interviewed Korean animal advocates, other social justice advocates, and long-term expats whose lives had taken unexpected twists and turns. This type of content takes a long time to produce, and it’s a side project for me, so progress has been slow. But I don’t want to let it go because I enjoy hearing other people’s stories and learning from them. I also enjoy writing and sharing helpful information.

Thanks for visiting. If you have any ideas for the blog, I’d love to hear from you. Please use the contact form to get in touch.

Also, hopefully it goes without saying that any opinions expressed here are my own or those of my interviewees.
